Alexander

Alexander is a "Red-Shouldered Hawk" that lives in my back yard.  The first time he made his appearance, I just thought it was a treat to see such a pretty bird perched in my yard.  Now I look for him every day.  The more I watch him the more he becomes part of the family.  My whole family watches for him and gives updates to eachother on what tree he is in.
Alexander has several favorite spots where he waits to hunt for food.  He loves the crawfish that is easily found here.  He perches so very still - he makes it almost easy to get great pictures of him.
I know he sees me watching.  He watches me back, but for some reason he does not seem to be threatened by my presence.  I have actually gotten as close as 20 feet with him perched atop a fence post.  Amazing.
We will be moving before too long.  It will be such a shame to move away from here, knowing that I will never get to see him again.  I want to gather as much information and photos of him as I can before we go.
